Wind Turbine Castings

The Wind Turbine Industry has unique demands for size, material, process and testing that few foundries in the world can meet and that we are capable to provide at competitive costs.  Cast and Machined Parts include:  Hubs, Bed Plates, Base Plates, Gear Housings, Bearing Housings, Main Frames, Rotor, etc…

Materials: Ductile Iron and Spheroidic Ductile Iron meeting both EN1563, Grades EN-JS-1025 (-20 C) and EN-JS-1015 EN-JS-1015 (-40 C).

Sizes:  Sand Casting sizes vary from 50 Kg to 15,000 KG.

Post Casting processes include: 5-axis machining center machining and painting.

In-house testing capabilities include: 1.) Chemical Composition – spectrometry equipment; 2.) Charpy Impact – at room and cold temperature; 3.) Micrographic inspection and photo-documentation; 4.) Radiography (ultrasonic) according to DIN EN 1369 for critical inspection areas, & 4.) Magnetic Particle Inspection per DIN EN 12680-3:2003 per conditions according to DIN EN 1559-3:1997.
